About The Role
As Senior Manager Data Engineering you should possess a comprehensive set of data engineering skills, data architecture abilities to create robust and efficient data services and pipelines, data warehouse modeling expertise to provide high-quality and purpose-fit analytical data, and business analytics skills to deliver data-driven insights. Additionally, you should be a people manager, which includes coaching your team members in executing their tasks, clearing technical and organizational blockers for them, and mentoring them on their career goals and skill development.
What You Will Do
- Liaise with our stakeholders to understand their needs and convert them into technical requirements.
- Manage data engineering and machine learning engineering infrastructure, and design and build scalable data pipelines/services to support business data requirements.
- Build data models, dashboards, and deliver insights to support business analytics.
- Identify potential bottlenecks in the system and implement optimization strategies to improve system performance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Manage team members through regular stand-up meetings, one-on-one meetings, code reviews, and provide constructive feedback on technical and soft skills.
What You Will Need
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience at large scales in data engineering, data science, or software engineering.
- At least 2 years of proven leadership managing a technical team.
- Strong knowledge and adherence to software engineering best practices, with experience in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD.
- Strong data architecture skills and expertise in designing and implementing scalable data architectures, including both streaming and batch processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with data warehouse modeling concepts and techniques, along with the ability to write efficient and maintainable SQL queries.
- A solid understanding of machine learning engineering, model development lifecycle, and techniques.
- A good grasp of business intelligence, including designing and creating interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About The Team
Our data team is part of GoToFinancial Consumer Lending and mainly supports two products: GopayLater and GopayPinjam. The team includes members from offices in Jakarta, Singapore, and Bangalore. We collaborate closely with the Risk, Finance, Growth, and Product teams, assisting them with their data requests on a daily basis.
